Quantum mechanics is the study of the mechanical systems whose dimensions are close to the subatomic scale, such as bonds, atoms, electrons and protons. This course is the first course of two-course series, this course is intended to focus on Quantum MODEL while the second course is a Biophysics 4rth year course (Computational Biophysics) and focuses on COMPUTATION which goes beyond the model to calculate physical parameters out of it.
The technological and medical applications of radiation and radioactivity have become so much a part of our everyday life that it is easy to lose sight of the fact that all of radiation science is recent by our usual view of historical calendars.
Bioenergetics is the study of the balance between energy intake in the form of food and energy utilization by animals for life-sustaining processes, tissue synthesis, osmoregulation, digestion, respiration, reproduction, locomotion, etc.
Biophysics is a fascinating and relatively new science. After centuries of studying the physical properties and behavior of inanimate objects, we finally got the idea to use physics to study living things. The hope is to reveal the most basic principles of life, in much the same way that physics has illuminated fundamental principles of matter and energy.
