The magnetic susceptibility behaviour of (m-NO2-C6H4NH3)2 M Cl4-xBrx compounds, where M is Cu2+ and x=0, 1, 2, were studied in the temperature range 300-390 K. The effective magnetic moment, Curie constant and Curie-Weiss constant for Cu2+ were calculated. In addition, the effect of replacing Cl-1 by Br-1 ions in the compounds was studied. Differential scanning calorimeter thermographs were used to check the phase-transition points. © 1993 Chapman & Hall.
