Fluorescence Spectroscopy: Introduction to Biomedical Applications

Goals and Objectives:

The aim of this course is to provide the students with the basic principles of fluorescence and to learn how to obtain biomolecular information from fluorescence data.

Course Contents:

Introduction to fluorescence, instrumentation, fluorophores, solvent and microenvironment effects, fluorescence lifetime and quantum yield,  fluorescence quenching, resonance energy transfer, fluorescence anisotropy, biological applications
