Bio

Tareq Youssef was born in Dokki (Giza/Egypt).  He received his Ph.D degree in Biophysics from The Faculty of Science – Cairo Univ in collaboration with Institute of Biophysics – CNR (Pisa/Italy) granted from The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome.  During the period 1987-2003, he was a staff researcher at Basic Science Dept., Research Institute of Ophthalmology affiliated to The Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education.  In 2004, he became an Associate Professor of Biophysics at National Institute of Laser Enhanced Science (NILES) – Cairo Univ and then as a Full Professor of Biophysics in the same Institution. He promoted as an acting chair and a chairman of Dept. of Laser Applications in Metreology and Photochemistry at NILES.   Tareq Youssef received 2 years as a Postdoctorate Fellow in Institute of Biophysics, granted from International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP).  He is an invited speaker in several Conferences and Institutions and a Reviewer in peer reviewed journals. He is a scientific coordinator for local and international scientific projects joined with Institute of Biophysics (Pisa/Italy), Ecole Normale Supėrieure (Paris/France) and Institute of Photonic Technology (Jena/Germany). Recently, in 2015, he has worked as a Visiting Professor at Physics Dept. (Plasmonics & Nanophotonics)/Taiwan University. His research interests are mainly focused on photo-sensitizers and nano-materials for biomedical and environmental applications.
