Assistant Prof. Dr. Sherin Gammaz, Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, academic coordinator

She received her M.Sc. and PhD degrees from Cairo University. Her specialized academic background is in the field of urban planning and design. Her primary areas of teaching are urban planning, urban design, urban management and urban regeneration. She has participated in the supervision of a number of MSc and PhD theses in related research areas. She explores in her recent academic researches the areas of upgrading of informal settlements and sustainable urbanism. Besides her teaching and research work in Cairo University she has extensive experience on the practice level for several urban and architecture projects. She has contribution to many international conferences and workshops on both organization and coordination levels. In addition She is a member in the coordination team of the Double master program “Revitalization of Historic City Districts” with Cottbus University in Germany, as well as a member in the coordination team of the project "Strategies of climate adaptation and resource efficiency for new urban neighbourhoods" with HafenCity university in Germany.
