Dr. Randa Anwar is currently an Associate Professor of Linguistics at the Department of English Language and Literature, Cairo University, Egypt. There she attained her B.A.,Diploma in Linguistics, and, eventually, her PhD in 2004. She joined the American University in Cairo as a Teaching Fellow where she received her M.A. in TEFL in 2000. She also teaches at the AUC as full time faculty at the Academy of Liberal Arts and the Department of Applied Linguistics. Her academic interests are: Applied Linguistics, Pragmatics, SLA, Intercultural Communication, TEFL, Discourse Analysis, EAP and Syntax, and has published several papers in these fields. Her career objective is to promote English Language learning and teaching among nonnative English speakers.
