Biography

Dr. Mona El-Kalioby is an associate Professor of Dermatology, consultant dermatologist, and a dermatology researcher . She was graduated from Kasr Al-Ainy School of Medicine, Cairo University in 2010, with grade of excellent with honors, ranking the third on her class. Then, she had her dermatology residency, Master's degree and Doctorate degree in Dermatology at the same University.

Her main research interests are psoriasis, laserscosmetic surgery and bullous disorders. She shared as a co-author in more than 18 research papers, published in peer-reviewed Journals. She coauthored a book chapter "Periorbital Dermatology and Oculoplasty" in Oculoplastic Surgery book published by springer Nature. She also participated as a speaker and trainer in various national and international conferences, courses, worskshops, and events.

Dr. El-Kalioby is one of the Founding Members of the Kasr Al-Ainy Psoriasis Unit (KAPU) at the dermatology department, Cairo University. The unit currently serves more than 5700 registered psoriasis patients. She was a 2022 International Psoriasis Council (IPC) fellow, mentored by Professor Amy Paller (Professor and Chair of Dermatology, at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois, USA).

Dr. El-Kalioby also works at the Kasr AlAiny Laser unit since 2015. The Kasr AlAiny Laser unit provides serves to patients from all over Egypt with applications on free surgical, fractional, Q-switched, vascular and hair removal lasers, and excimer lasers.

Dr. El-Kalioby is a coordinator of the residents training program at Kasr AlAiny dermatology department. She teaches and trains undergraduates, interns, post-graduates, residents, fellows, and assistant lecturers.  She is an instructor and demonstrator at the professional laser Diploma and in the regular department workshops of psoriasis, and laser. 

She is a recipient of the 2021, 2020 and the 2018 International publication award from Cairo University, 2023 World congress of Dermatology (Singapore) scholarship, 2019 Strauss and Katz Scholarship award from the American Academy of Dermatology, and the 2019 John Stratigos Memorial Scholarship award from the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
