Attending and assisting in tumor thermal ablation sessions performed once a week involving of liver, lung, renal and bone tumors as well as lymph node lesions.

The major part of the work includes mainly: Liver HCC and metastases (a total of about 1500 sessions ) Lung metastases (a total of about 90 sessions) Bone tumors in axial and appendicular skeleton (a total of about 50 sessions) Uterine lieomyoma (a total of about 40 sessions) (a total of about 200 interventions) Angiographic examination of pelvic and lower limb arteries Balloon angioplasty, Laser angioplasty and stenting including below knee interventions (a total of about 30 interventions) Balloon angioplasty, and stenting (a total of about 25 interventions) GI bleeding (pharynx, oesophagus, stomach, small and large bowel) Pelvic trauma, Epistaxis and Glomus tumor (a total of about 30 interventions) including thoracic and abdominal aorta Femoral arterial port implantation (30 patients) Subclavian venous port implantation (10 patients) Revision and Correction of port catheter dislocation (5 cases) Port extraction (2 patients) (a total of about 40 interventions) (a total of about 5 interventions) Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography and drainage with or without stenting (15 cases), TIPSS (3 cases) (Colon and oesophagus) (2 cases) Stent of IVC strictures (2 patients) IVC filter implantation (1 patient) Transjugular removal of dislodged IVC filter
Attending and assisting in CT-guided interventions: Biopsies and Drainage of abscesses and pneumothorax .
Attending and assisting in open MR-guided interventions: Biopsies from prostate, liver and lymph nodes. Galvanotherapy of prostate and liver tumors.
Sharing in the research work of the department by writing articles and book chapters and doing clinical studies. The finished up to April 2006 are: 1. Transarterial chemoembolization in the treatment of hepatoblastoma in children (already published on Pubmed ahead of print) 2. Leaking hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm & arteriovenous fistula developing during hepatic laser-induced thermotherapy & immediate successful management by embolization (currently reviewed). 3. Hemopericardium complicating hepatic percutaneous laser-induced thermotherapy (LITT) and immediate percutaneous CT Fluoroscopy-guided drainage (currently reviewed). 4. Post-traumatic pelvic arterial embolization in children (currently reviewed). 5. Liver metastases: regional chemotherapy via transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) and hepatic chemoperfusion: An update. (Currently reviewed). 6. Book chapter: Regional chemotherapy of liver metastases via transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) and chemoperfusion. 7. Retrospective study: Transarterial chemoembolization in the treatment of liver metastases from renal cell carcinoma (currently reviewed). 8. Book chapter: Percutaneous laser-induced thermotherapy of lung metastases. 9. Review article: Systematic review of percutaneous radiofrequency and laser-induced thermal ablation of lung metastases. 10. Retrospective study: Treatment of erectile dysfunction due to venous leakage by venous coiling
- Assistant Lecturer, Radiology Department, Cairo University Hospitals (40 hours per week ): from June 2003 till present, on leave since 2005 The Emergency Unit The daily work includes: Ultrasonographic exams with Ultrasonographic guided drainage of abscess, cysts or ascites. Obstetric antenatal & Gynaecological exams. Doppler exams for deep venous thrombosis, testicular & ovarian torsion and peripheral ischaemia. C.T. Unit (20 hours per week) from March 2004 till present The daily work includes: Brain, abdominal, chest, face, neck, spinal & skeletal exams as well as C.T guided biopsies. MRI Unit (20 hours per week) From March 2004 till present. The daily work includes: Bain, orbit, petrous, knee, shoulder, pelvis and spinal MRI. Paediatric Radiology Unit - Cairo University Hospitals from 2003 till 2004 (40 hours per week ) Daily work included: Monitoring & Reporting of plain radiography, post-contrast GIT & genito-urinary studies, CT & MRI studies. Ultrasound examinations including abdomenopelvic, transcranial & musculoskeletal examinations. : from June 2003 to November 2003 (40 hours per week) Daily work included : Peripheral, cerebral, external carotid, renal, coeliac & mesenteric arteriography Ascending venography Embolization of intracranial & extracranial head & neck tumors (meningiomas, Glomus, Haemangioma) Hepatic chemoembolization in HCC Embolization of Vascular malformtions, & traumatic AV fistulae using metallic coils. SVC stenting for SVC obstruction IVC filter implantation Hepatobiliary interventions including percutaneous cholangiography with external and internal drainage. Renal artery angioplasty - Residency, Radiology Department, Cairo University Teaching Hospital From March 2000 till April 2003 Rotations among the following units: Neuroradiology ,Gastrointestinal Radiology, Genitourinary Radiology, Vascular & Interventional radiology, Paediatric, Ultrasonography & Doppler, Musculoskeletal Radiology and Emergency Radiology.
