Mohamed Khalefa Is currently a Teaching Assistant of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cairo University Hospitals. He joined Faculty of Medicne, Cairo University, and he graduated in December 2010 as the first on his class with grades excellent with honours.
He started his 12 months internship in Cairo University hospitals soon after the revolution of 25th of January 2011 (1st March 2011) in which he spent 2 months in A & E, 2 months in general surgery and 1 month in orthopaedic surgery. He also successfully passed iMRCS part A during this year.
He became a resident of Orthopaedic Surgery from August 2012 till September 2015 including 6 months rotation in vascular, plastic surgery and surgical ICU.
He completed his iMRCS by passing part B successfully in march 2013 and officially became a member of Royal College of Surgeons in England in October 2013.
He finished his Master Degree in Orthopaedics and Traumatology in May 2015, with Grade Excellent. His thesis titled "Nosocomial Postoperative wound infection: Anti-microbial resistance and sensitivity patterns of bacterial isolates" was accepted in April 2015. He is currently preparing for his MD degree in Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
He scored 8 in IELTS UKVI in September 2015 and applied for GMC registration. He was fully registered at GMC with licence to practice from 7th of January 2016.
He worked as clinical Fellow CT1/2 level at North Bristol NHs trust from the period of 3/2/16 till 3/8/16, then he started working as specialist knee registrar with Bristol Knee group from 4/8/16 till present.
He completed the audit ' MSSA post-operative colonization rates in spinal patients and was presented in the spinal clinical governance meeting in July 2016.
Currently, he is working on two papers concerning survivorship of revision knee prosthesis and infections after TKR with the Bristol knee team and they are expected to be delivered early 2017.
He is a member of AO trauma, SICOT, ESSKA and the EOA.
He got married in 2013 and he is a father of a 2 years old girl, he enjoys cycling, running, walking and playing football and watching movies. He is also a great video gamer and enjoys Xbox in spare time. He is a freelance semi-pro photographer who started in around 2008. He participated in several national and local competitions and won several prizes. He has his own fan page on Facebook.
