This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the theory, history, and practice of diplomatic relations. It introduces an understanding of the mechanisms and process of diplomacy, to assess the utility of different approaches to the implementation of foreign policy. Also, this course includes history of diplomacy in ancient ages (Pharaonic, Greek, Roman), in medieval ages, and in recent ages. The diplomatic function (legal basis, hiring heads of diplomatic missions and their members, mixed diplomacy, responsibilities of the diplomat, establishing and ending a mission).The course also discusses the history of consular systems, formation of consulates, types of consuls, immunities of consulates, difference between consults and diplomatic representatives.
