Summary:
This dissertation is to study the role of military force in the United States foreign policy since the end of the Cold War, and the reviewing process of the U.S. strategic role in the presence of claims of the importance of combining soft and hard power - in what is known by the term Smart power - in order to restore the prestige and international role of the United States, using the Decision Making approach with comparison between the three administrations of Clinton, W. Bush, and Obama.
