The Ethiopic Text "Praise of Mary” [Wəddase Maryam] A Study in content and form

The purpose of this paper is to display the content of Ethiopic Text "Praise of Mary", as well as explaining its literary and linguistic features, and revealing his poetic speech and artistic characteristics.

The Ethiopic Text is a necessary component of the literary, liturgical, religious and social status among Ethiopians. It is an obligatory part of the Ethiopian Church Teaching. The paper also discusses that Ethiopic Text derived from the Coptic literary heritage.

The Impact of Ethiopic(Ge’ez) Literature on the Emergence and Prosperity of Amharic Literature

The purpose of this paper is to explore the effect that Geez literature had on originating Amharic literature and developing it. The Amharic language emerged as the principal successor tongue and the daughter language of Classical  Ethiopic.  The impact of Geez literature is evident in a lot of Amharic literature works. The bases of Amharic literature is mainly derived from the moral, religious, philosophical tradition already well established in Ge’ez literature. This can be proved through scrutinizing the content and form of these texts.

The Impact of the Egyptian Civilizational Heritage on the Ethiopia during the Middle Ages

This research aims to highlight the impact of Egyptian civilization on Ethiopia in the Middle Ages, and to show the merit of this heritage in the development and civilization of the Ethiopians in several ways, through their influence by the civilization of Egypt and its people. Ethiopia was linked to Egypt, and many religious, historical, and political ties and relations were gathered between them, in addition to the link of the Nile River. However, relations were not always friendly between the two countries, as they witnessed some religious and historical crises.

A Description of the Ethiopic Literature heritage through the Travels of the Orientalist James Bruce: An Analytical and Literary Study.

The purpose of this paper is to expose the Ethiopic Literature heritage through scrutinizing the journey and travels of the European explorer and Orientalist James Bruce at Ethiopia in the late 18th century. The descriptions of Bruce’s travels are diverse and reflect valuable events as they shed light upon important historical, social, geographic, and political facts concerning the Ethiopians through the analysis of popular literature as Bruce was also an important collector of old Abyssinian manuscripts.
