The present study deals with biochemical and
histological effects of aluminium chloride and zinc
sulphate either applied individually or in
combination, at sublethal concentrations, against
the pulmonate snail Biomphalaria alexandrina.
After six weeks of exposure, a marked inhibition of
the transaminases activity and a persistent increase
in the AChE activity were recorded. The
electrophoretic pattern of hemolymph protein
showed great differences in the number and
molecular weight of protein bands.
