Susceptibilities of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Other Multi-drug Resistant Organisms to Three Germicidal Disinfectants

Abstract.

This study considered three germicidal disinfectants (Povidone iodine, Sodium hypochlorite and chlorhexidine digluconate) tested against 30 isolates of (MRSA, IRAB and imipenem resistant Pseudomonas) at different exposure times 30 sec, 2min and 5min for Povidone iodine and CHX and 2, 5 and 10 min for Sodium hypochlorite, to determine the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) per each.
