  • Major contributor in developing IBDentity™ (Merial Select Inc.) for extracting IBDV genomic material from formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue (FFPET) and molecular identification of infective viral strain by RT-PCR and PCR sequencing.
  • Developed a Pichia pastoris expression system for expressing IBDV VP2 from IBDV RNA extracted from formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue.

  • Held key responsibilities in developing precocious vaccine for Merial select. I developed the studies on different preservatives for use in coccidia vaccines.
  • I successfully propagated Eimeria sporozoites in tissue culture and retrieved some of Dr. Peter Long’s different coccidia strains that were stored in liquid nitrogen for 15-25 years (Merial’s Hatchback III strains).
  • Worked on developing coccidia vaccines with longer shelf life by selecting oocysts with higher amylopectin content.
  • Assisted in Histomoniasis research.
  • Assisted with teaching the avian anatomy and physiology lab to poultry science undergraduate students. (Fall, 2001)
  • Assisted with teaching the advanced broiler production class to Poultry Science undergraduate students.  (Fall, 1999)
