Mahmoud Gamal, MS, Ph.D. Candidate

Mahmoud Gamal earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) from Cairo University in 2017, followed by a Master of Veterinary Sciences in 2021. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Nanobiotechnology, during which he joined the Dordick Group at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, NY, USA, as a visiting scholar.

Driven by his fascination with biochemistry as a lens to understand biological phenomena, Mahmoud has built strong expertise in molecular biology, bioinformatics, and biostatistics. His skills in R programming support his work in developing and validating analytical methods, including a robust approach (f0%) for qPCR data analysis.

His doctoral research focuses on designing nanocarriers for drug delivery using natural, non-toxic materials. These carriers are being evaluated for their drug release kinetics and in vitro performance. As part of his Ph.D. work, Mahmoud also optimized an acrylic acid–based polymer system for purifying cationic proteins via batch chromatography.
