The topic of my master degree research was the late outcome after one year of hospital discharge of patients with infective endocarditis; from which an abstract was accepted as a poster in the 11th international symposium on modern concepts in endocarditis and cardiovascular infections that was held in Australia in 2011, the title of the abstract was;

When I was a first year medical student I got attached to the heart as an organ, it was when I studied the anatomy of the aorta and the aortic valve that I decided that one day I will be a cardiologist!
Cardiology is my favorite field of study, research and as a career; I want to be a good doctor with good experience and to be able to transmit the knowledge and the skills to the junior generations.
I’m a hard worker, during my residency I used to spend 80 hours in the hospital every week and I got a certificate of excellence for outstanding performance as resident of cardiovascular medicine in cardiology department - Cairo University. I’m a quick learner and I enjoy the process of learning.
After rotations in the ward, CCU, clinics, cath labs and echo lab, I found myself most interested in cardiomyopathies, cardiac imaging, arrhythmias, channelopathies and sudden cardiac death syndrome. It’s my dream to establish a national unit for cardiomopathies research in Egypt.
I have good command of English as my study in medical school was in English. I’m able to communicate effectively with my colleagues and seniors. My computer skills include windows, word, excel, PowerPoint, and internet. I used to plan for my work, take notes, estimate the needed time, follow up the results and in general organize my daily work as well as my weekly and monthly works. On conducting or revising my work and correspondences I always give full details thorough attention and consideration. I’m conscious to safety and health regulations, procedures and considerations. I’m always trying to apply such procedures within my work site. I like working in a team and feel more comfortable working with other people.
I enjoy teaching and feel happy when I receive a visit or a call from an old students, once an old student of mine whom I teached two years ago called for an advice stated that I inspired him, that made me really happy.
I volunteer to work extra hours every week with no extra payment; as our hospital is one of few hospitals that are fully funded by the government and give free medical service to Egyptian people thus the flow is high and the waiting list is always long and almost all of our patients don’t have the financial support for private services and are not covered by medical insurance.
Reading – not just scientific, but also in other fields and literature- is my favorite hobby.
