Invited speakers from industry who are also Alumni of the Chemical Engineering Department are invited in this course to give lectures about their industry and how the students can be prepared for jobs in those industries. 

Reactions of Solid Wastes

Semester: 
Fall

A graduate-level course includes the following:

1- Torrefaction Reactions 

2- Pyrolysis Reactions

3- Gasification Reactions 

4- Anaerobic Digestion Reactions 

In addition to a term project where students are required to read a published journal article and do a critical discussion of its content. 

Energy and Climate Change Problems

* Renewable Energy sources including :

- Waste to Energy 

- Geothermal Energy 

- Solar Energy 

- Wind Energy 

- Hydroelectric Energy 

Environmental Impact Assessment

Semester: 
Fall

This course includes: 

* The philosophy of environmental assessment 

* Procedures for environmental impact assessment in Egypt and some international organizations 

* Components of environmental impact assessment report

* Describing the current situation 

* Predicting potential impacts 

* Measures to mitigate the negative impacts 

* Environmental management plan
