Dr. Abd El-Rahman graduated in July 1999 with a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and received his Master of Science degree late December 2002 at Cairo University to then join the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in January 2004. In May 2005, Mr. Abd El-Rahman received a Master degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, followed by his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics in May 2009 from the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Abd El-Rahman joined Cairo University in 2010 as an assistant professor to further become an associate professor of fluid mechanics in October 2015. In 2018, he accepted an invitation to join the Pprimme Institute, one of the CNRS lab -Poitiers, France- as a visiting researcher to perform experimental reserach on transitional oscillatory flows using particle image velocimetry technique. In March 2021, he became a full professor of fluid mechanics at Cairo University.
