Ahmed Hamdon is a political science assistant lecturer at Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University and a project Manager at Regional Center for Mediation and Dialogue, Cairo, Egypt. He graduated with honors in 2011 as the premier of his class. Interested in International law and how it intersects with international relations, his focus lies specifically on International Human Rights Law and how it changes the traditional doctrine of State Sovereignty. For this, he finished his master’s degree with honors as well on “Defamation of Religions in International Human Rights Law,” and is now pursuing his PhD in the same field. On a side note, he is a certified trainer in Conflict analysis, Resolution and transformation as well as Crisis management under the auspices of multiple national and international organizations including International Alert, UNITAR, and The Cairo Center for Conflict Resolution and Peace Keeping in Africa (CCCPA). On the practical side, he is engaged multiple initiatives to strengthen the democratization process in Egypt and across the region.
