Abeer Mohamed Abdel Salam Zahana, of Egyptian nationality, born in Algeria on June 15, 1973, is Full Professor at the Department of Spanish Language and Literature - Faculty of Arts - Cairo University.
- Former Acting Dean of Faculty of Arts - Cairo University (2022 - 2023).
- Former Vice-Dean of Posgraduate Studies and Scientific Research (2020 - 2023).
- Former Coordinator of Credit Hour Program - Faculty of Arts - Cairo University (2019 - 2020).
- Former Head of the Department of Hispanic Language and Literature and General Coordinator of the Credit Hours Program, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University (2017 - 2020).
- She obtained the bachelor’s degree homologated to the Spanish bachelor's degree in Hispanic Philology, 2002.
- She graduated from the Department of Hispanic Language and Literature of Cairo University in 1995.
- She obtained the degree of Doctor in the area of Applied Linguistics: teaching of second and foreign languages in the Department of Spanish Philology I of the Complutense University of Madrid in 2002.
- She was Cultural Attaché of the Egyptian Embassy in Spain, 2008-2011.
- She participated in several congresses and has several publications in the area of glossodidactics of Spanish as a foreign language, as well as translations from Spanish to Arabic and vice versa.
- She has been coordinator of the Preparatory Action titled: "Theoretical basis and establishment of criteria for the development of a Spanish-Arabic pragmatic dictionary" funded by the AECID and carried out between the University of Rovira i Virgili and Cairo University (2011- 2012).
- She has been a member of the Integrated Action titled: “Creation of standardized exams according to the CEFR, Arabic as a foreign language and Spanish for Tourism”, carried out between the universities of Cairo and the European University of Madrid (2011-2013).
- She been a member of the Mediterranean team, Interuniversity Cooperation and Scientific Research Program between Spain and Egypt (PCI-Mediterranean) with integrated action: "Design and Realization of an Electronic Teaching Program (Interactive), in accordance with the International Quality Standards, to Teach Spanish Language, Literature, Communication and Culture to Egyptian Students" (2008-2011).
- She has been Principal Investigator of Cairo University in the Project titled Innovation and Development in Spanish as a Foreign Language (IDELE) - (530459-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-ES-TEMPUS-JPCR), 2012-2015.
- She is coordinator (Principal Investigator of Cairo University) in the Project titled Towards Excellence in Applied Linguistics. Innovative Second Language Education in Egypt (XCELING) - (KA2 Erasmus + Capacity Building), since 2017.
- She is an external evaluator of the proposals presented within the Call for Research Projects with Internal Financing convened by the European University of Madrid since 2009.
-She has been a member of the PCI commission (International Cooperation Projects) 2009 and 2010. AECID, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Spain.
